Kathmandu, Nepal, March 14, 2023: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been preparing to take vote of confidence from the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 22, 2023.
As CPN UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party withdrew their support to the incumbent governemnt, Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), needs to take a vote of confidence by March 26.
The meeting of the HoR on March 1 has been adjourned until March 19 citing the reason of the elections of the president and vice president. Prime Minister Dahal was preparing to take the vote of confidence before the elections.
The election of the president was held on March 9 while elections for the vice president are scheduled for March 17.
The cabinet has not been expanded due to the stand of the Nepali Congress, the second largest party in the HoR, that it will not enter in the government until the Prime Minister gets vote of confidence from the HoR.
