Kathmandu, Nepal July 21: In-charge of Kathmandu Valley Bureau of the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Maila Lama has been arrested from Kathmandu on Saturday night.
Lama and a cadre of the party Resham Tamang were arrested from Kandaghari of Kathmandu. A team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) made the arrest on the basis of tiff-off from the locals that they are intensifying their activities by hiding in the areas.
Lama is considered as a key leader of the party. It is said that Lama is a member of talk team formed by the party to hold talks with the government.
The arrest of Lama is taken meaningfully as such an arrest is made in the mean time when it is claimed that process are underway to hold formal talks between the government and the outlawed CPN.
