Kathmandu, Nepal: CPN Maoist Center chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda, who is the sole contender in the Prime Ministerial election, has on Wednesday vowed to move ahead with consensus with the political parties represent in the parliament.

While presenting his candidacy in the parliament, Dahal also said that he would try to lead the nation toward economic development with the spirit of national consensus during his premiership.

My candidacy was to strengthen the national consensus among parties to solve all the problems, Dahal said stating that his government would try to resolve the differences with the Madhesi parties.

I am not very happy because of that national consensus government could not be formed though it was the need of the day; Dahal said adding that consensus could be maintained on national issues.

I would put my best efforts for cooperation and collaboration after his election as the Prime Minister to resolve all the challenges, Dahal said.

I have taken positively to the decision of the CPN-UML for not fielding candidacy to the post of Prime Minister, Dahal said.

The new government would give continuity to development projects and agreements signed with neighboring nations as the Maoist party itself was also a significant part of the CPN UML chairman KP Sharma Oli led government, Dahal said hinting to the questions raised by Oli during his last speech in the parliament.

I will continue the development projects as these were not actually initiated by Oli  but by other previous governments, Dahal said.
