Kathmandu, Nepal, August 1, 2021: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Lt Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma as acting Chief of Nepal Army.
Following the recommendation of the government on June 27, President Bhandari appointed Sharma on Sunday.
With the decision, Sharma's appointment as the next chief of the army has become certain.
Sharma will take the responsibility as Chief of Nepal Army once incumbent Nepal Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa retires from the post. Thapa is going retire on August 8.
