Kathmandu, Nepal, June 17, 2021: Prime Minister KP Shrma Oli has presented 29 point explanation to the Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday in response to the clarification sought for dissolution of the parliament.
Prime Minister Oli has presented a number of arguments to justify the government’s decision to dissolve the parliament including that that there was no possibility to form an alternative government.
Members of parliament can not extend their support to any member belonging to the opposition party going against party discipline, Prime Minister Oli has stated.
Neither any legal as well as constitutional provisions have allowed the members of the ruling CPN-UML to support Sher Bahadur Deuba as the new prime minister nor the party has made any decision to this effect, Oli has stated.
The SC had on June 22 sought clarifications with the Prime Minister, Council of Ministers and the President regarding the dissolution parliament.
