Kathmandu, Nepal, December 17, 2021: five joint general secretaries of the Nepali Congress (NC) under the Khas Aarya, Muslim, backward region, Tharu and Madhesi cluster have been elected on Friday.  


Kishowr Singh Rathaur, Farmullha Mansur, Badri Pande, Umakanta Chaudhary and have been elected as joint general secretaries under the Khas Aarya, Muslim, backward region, Tharu and Madhesi cluster.


Rathaur, who was the running mate of president Sher Bahadur Deuba, secured 2,576 votes while his nearest rival candidate Devraj Chalise, who was the running mate of presidential candidate Shekhar Koirala, secured just 2059 votes. 

Similarly, Mansur, who was also the running mate of president Deuba elected in the post securing 2,776 votes while his nearest rival Sekh Wakil, who was the running mate of Koirala, secured just 1871 votes. 

Likewise, Pande, who was the running mate of Koirala, has been elected by securing 2411 votes while his rival candidate Jeevan Bahadur  Shahi, who was the running mate of president Deuba and chief minister of Karnali province secured just 1,933 votes. 

Chaudhary, running mate of president Deuba, secured 2545 votes while his nearest rival Tejulal Chaudhary, running mate of Koirala secured just 1772 votes. 

Similarly, Mahendra Yadav, running mate of president Deuba, has been elected under the Madhesi cluster by defeating Ramkrishna Yadav.  Ramkrishna was the candidate from the Koirla led panel.
