Kathmandu, Nepal, July 18, 2020: Secretariat meeting of the ruling head Nepal Communist Party (NCP) held on Saturday at the Prime Minister’s official resident, Baluwatar, ended inconclusively after both the rivaling sides remained on their stand over the issue of settling the internal differences of the party.
However, the meeting decided to put off the ongoing standing committee meeting until the secretariat meetings settle the internal differences of the party. The standing committee meeting was scheduled for 3:00pm on Sunday.
We have decided to continue the secretariat meeting, which would continue even on Sunday by putting off the ongoing standing committee meeting, NCP‘s spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.
It is said that the dissident leaders including the executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal reiterated their stands that Prime Minister KP Oli should resign from both the posts- Prime Minister and party chairman to pave the way to settle the internal differences of the party. However, Prime Minister Oli also reiterated his old stand that he would not resign even from a single post.
Chairman Duo moves to the Office of The President, Sitalniwas
Following the secretariat meeting, both the chairman of the party moved to the office of the President, Sitalniwas to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari, a source close to the official resident of the Prime Minister said without elaborating about the purpose of the meeting.
