Kathmandu, Nepal:  With the agreement between the major parties over the issue of running the meeting of the legislative parliament, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is going to be elected as the Prime Minister today.

The scheduled election process of Sunday was postponed for today after UML had warned to obstruct the House meetings to protest against the Election Commission's decision to conduct re-poll in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

As the Supreme Court issued a stay order against of the EC decision, the UML has softened its stand to continue the obstruction in the parliament.  The UML had agreed not to obstruct the parliament during a meeting of the top leaders of the major three parties on Monday.

As NC President Deuba is the sole candidate in the PM election, he will be declared as the new Prime Minister from today’s meeting through the majority process. No other parties had registered their candidacies on Sunday except NC president Deuba.
