Kathmandu, Nepal, November 23, 2021: At least six persons died while one other sustained critical injuries after a passenger jeep met with a fatal accident at Dasharathchand Municipality-4 of Baitadi district.
The accident occurred when the ill-fated jeep with registration number Ma 1 Ja 310, which was en route to Simayal of Dasharathchand-6 from Dehimandau of Dasarathchand-2, skidded off the road and fell about 700 below the road along the Gothalapani-Jhulaghat road section of Dasharathchand Highway at around 8:30 pm on Sunday.
According to reports, the deceased have been identified as 65 years old Prem Bahadur Chand, Tara Singh Thapa, Khem Singh Karki, 48 years old Rajendra Bahadur Chand, 38 years old Dhan Bahadur Chand and 40 years old Dipak Mali.
Mali, who originally hails from Dadeldhura district, was the jeep driver. Critically injured Mali breathed his last whiling rushing out for the treatment. Likewise, other deceased, who are the native of Dasharathchand-6 of the Baitadi district, had died on the spot.
The critically injured passenger has been identified as 48 years old Harka Bahadur Chand of Dasharathchand-6. Overspending is believed as the cause behind the accident.
