Kathmandu, Nepal, January 27, 2022:  The Supreme Court (SC), the Apex Court of the country has stripped the post Rabi Lamichhane as the member of the House of Representatives (HoR)

With the verdict, the post of Lamichhane as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Home Minister Affairs (MoHP) has been dismissed.

A five member constitutional bench formed under the Chairmanship of Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki made the verdict on Friday finding him guilty in the citizenship and passport case.

Following the election of Lamichhane as HoR member form the Chitawan Constituency 2, advocate Rabi Raj Basaula and others had filed a writ petition at the SC arguing that he is not qualified to become HoR.
