Kathmandu, Nepal, June 22, 2021:The case of removal of four lawmakers representing Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) in Lumbini Province will be heard in a full bench of the Supreme Court (SC).

A joint bench of SC Justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Hari Prasad Phuyal has  on Monday decided to conduct the hearing in the full bench.

Challenging to the party’s decision to suspend them from the lawmakers, Bijaya Yadav, Santosh Pandey, Suman Sharma and Kalpana Pandey had filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding immediate suspension of the party decision to remove them from position as lawmakers.

As the four lawmakers had taken oath of office and secrecy as ministers in the Shankar Pokharel-led cabinet in Lumbini Province despite signing in the no-confidence motion filed against Pokharel, the JSP had decided to suspend them not only from the lawmakers’ position but also from the party’s rank and files.
