Kathmandu, Nepal, August 18, 2021: Soon after the President Bidya Devi Bhandari issued the ordinance to amend the Political Parties Act 2071, ousted Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Mahantha Thakur has also filed an application at the Election Commission to register a new political party on Wednesday.
The new political party has been named Janata Samajbadi Party (Democratic) with bicycle as election symbol.
As Election Commission officially recognized the JSP to the faction led by Upendra Yadav, the Thakur led faction was expelled from the party.
