Kathmandu, Nepal, April 4, 2020: Three new cases of corona virus (COVID-19) have been confirmed including a first locally transmitted case in Nepal on Saturday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a 21years old male from Kailali District and 41 years old male of Kanchanpur district, who were returnees of Mumbai and Uttarakhand of India have been confirmed COVID-19 positive.
Likewise, a 34-year-old woman of Kailali district has also been confirmed positive of COVID-19. With the new three ceases, the COVID-19 positive cases have reached nine in Nepal till Saturday.
The 34 year old woman of Kailali district is the first locally transmitted case in Nepal after the country reported first COVID-19 case on January 24. With the confirmed locally transmitted case, it is being suspected that the deadly virus would have spread even in the persons who have no any recent travel history to foreign country.
However, the Ministry has said that the locally transmitted woman was the relative of the fourth patient of the district, who had returned to Nepal from the United Arab Emirates.
