Kathmandu, Nepal, September 27, 2022: United States of America (USA) Acting Assistant Secretary for Global Public Affairs Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau is arriving in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
During her 12-day trip (from September 28-October 9, 2022), she is also scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) she is scheduled hold discussions with government officials and civil society organizations during her stay in Nepal.
It is said that her main purpose to visit Nepal is to counter disinformation from Russia and China about the US.
She is also planning to meet with minority group, activists and NGOs to discuss about gender-based violence, gender equality, and inclusive economic development, claims the source at the MoFA.
