Kathmandu, Nepal, March 22, 2022: Following the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister and the State Councilor Wang Yi to Nepal on March 25 t0 27 in Nepal, a high level US' bipartisan Congressional delegation is also arriving in Nepal at the second week of April, 2022.

An official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has confirmed about the scheduled visit of the 25 members US Congress delegation in Nepal. However, scheduled visit of the US Congress delegation and the purpose of the visit are yet to be revealed officially.  

As Nepal and US are marking 75 years the establishment of diplomatic ties this year, the US Congress delegation’s visit to Nepal would be a high-level exchanges between the two countries, claims the source.  

One after another high level visit from China and US, however, is taken importantly from different sectors, particularly in the diplomatic as well as political sectors.  

A diplomat has a saying that China and US would have decided to send high level delegation to take stock of the political climate developed after ratification of the US Government's Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) from the parliament on February 27.  

Nepal had ratified the MCC Nepal Compact project with 12 interpretative declaration to bring into implementation the $500 million US grant for the construction of high-tension wires and roads despite concerns from China.
