Kathmandu, Nepal: Italy’s 80th Republic Day celebrated in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening amid the special ceremony organized at Hotel Aloft in Thamel. Italy’s 80th Republic Day was celebrated in Kathmandu with the aim of further strengthening relations between Nepal and Italy.
The program was jointly organized by the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Nepal and the Nepal–Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representing to the government of Nepal joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries.
During the function, he stated that the Government of Nepal is ready to expand cooperation in areas such as hydropower, tourism, and infrastructure in the coming days.
Similarly, Italy’s non-resident Ambassador to Nepal, Antonio Bartoli, praised Nepal’s art, culture, and natural beauty, noting the country’s vast investment potential expressing Italy’s commitment to elevating diplomatic and economic ties to new heights, with a particular focus on tourism and cultural exchange.
The program, coordinated by Italy’s Honorary Consul, Pratibha Rana Pandey, saw the participation of diplomats, industrialists, and business representatives. During the function participants also enjoyed popular Italian cuisine and held discussions on matters of mutual interest and friendship between the two nations.
